When I bought this shirt I must have been having a really  good hair day (or maybe it was the trick lighting in the store...you girls know what I'm talking about...), but once I put it in my closet it never saw the light of day. An important thing to note is that when I purchased this top it looked very different than it does now. It originally had a faux leather peplum along the bottom, very similar to this  shirt. While I'm a fan of peplum and the style looks great on other people, the shirt was just not working for me. I thought it was destined to live in fashion purgatory forever until one day a lightbulb went off, and from a pile of weeds a daisy appeared. I loved the cut of the top of the shirt and was searching for the perfect black crop-top to add to my wardrobe. Some clean scissors and a few snips later, voilà -- my favorite shirt was born.    This outfit has quickly become one of my closet go-to's. The skirt works for pretty much any season or occasion, and even has a #petitepricetag -- its from one of my favorite affordable stores, Forever 21 . Once I finally let go of the leather peplum (RIP) the shirt took on a completely different look and I've probably worn it more than most items in my closet.
For the gal on the go: I paired this look with one of my favorite Clare V . clutches. This line of trendy yet classic handbags is definitely a current #petitepick. I never want to say later to this gator-print purchase. And who doesn't love some reflective-lens sunnies? Here's looking at you!
From fashion blues to always use, this look is definitely coming up daisies.   Photography by Alexa Drew Photography Top: Necessary Clothing (similar here  and here ) / Skirt: Forever 21 (similar here ,  h ere,  and here ) / Shoes: Birkenstock (similar here ) / Handbag: Clare V .
