I originally bought this romper on a whim. I was rushing to find an outfit for a friend's engagement party on a rainy fall Saturday and just needed to find something, anything, to wear. But when I got home to get ready for the party, the look felt a little underdressed. So I decided to pull out my trusty black skirt, a closet staple of mine, and try it on over the romper. (Do you have a staple black skirt in your wardrobe? If not, run, don't walk. And you don't have to break the bank - mine was under $30!)   The skirt made the romper feel fun and flirty and instantly elevated the outfit. Plus, I loved that I still had the detailing of the floral print, and the thin material of the romper made layering very comfortable and flattering. I paired the look with neutral heels and a light pink clutch to match the floral detailing and the whole look felt perfect for a fall soirée.
But if you've learned anything from reading this blog, you would know I wasn't happy with finding just one alternative way to wear this romper. So I channeled the current 70's trendy in fashion and gave this romper another remix.

1970's fashion is back in full force with suede, fringe, (faux) fur and wide-leg jeans making a major comeback. With temperatures (very slowly) dropping I wanted to find a way to wear my favorite romper with a new twist.   A faux fur vest is a faux sure way to warm up any look while adding some 70's vibes. This version from Zara is a perfect transition piece to take this look into cooler weather. Paired with some maroon tights and wooden chunky heels, this look had me channeling my inner flower child in more ways than one.
It is a far far better thing to wear a romper two ways, rather than just one.   And sometimes a remix is even better than the original ;) Photography by Maria Doka Photo       Look 1: Romper: H&M (similar all on SALE here, here, here , and here ) / Skirt: Necessary Clothing (similar here and here ) / Nude Heels: Christian Louboutin (similar here   and here ) / Pink Clutch: Marc Jacobs (similar here ) Look 2: Faux Fur Vest: Zara (similar here ) / Black Heels: Christian Louboutin (similar here and here ) / Sunglasses: Quay (similar here )
